I read about Charlie Kirk being shot when checking an app for the latest status on the Kerr County flood victims. Cleanup still happening, volunteers still needed, donations still requested, still 2 missing and assumed dead.... An improving, but horrible situation.

All of the heroes involved in the flood are considered beacons of light to those involved in losing loved ones and homes and those of us who cannot help in person, but wish we could.

We do know that our prayers are answered, so we continue to pray.

On that note...

Targeting Charlie Kirk, being another hero, by an assassin was not a surprise. This country has been subject to the most horrible, personal incidents in the last several years. We could say it is because Politics has gotten out of hand, which would be true, or Society has just gone to hell, which is true, or that we have allowed bigotry to become so commonplace, that we cannot even answer the question asking if we are a bigot! At the same time, we can pursue the assumption that since God was slowly rejected by many in this nation and around the world that He has had enough. I choose that one.

I think that Charlie has been the apple of God's eye for his entire life. It shows to anyone that is looking, since he has gained such a following with young people as he shows them the way to God, why they need to get married and to have children, participate in helping this country to revive and survive, share what they have learned and to reach for a better life.

I have listened to Charlie Kirk since I discovered who he was several years ago. I did not really consider the depth of what he was doing and only heard him as another political opinion (that I usually agreed with.) However, with his death, I have learned so much more and my respect for what he stood for and what he was accomplishing around the world has earned a previously unknown amount of my respect for him and what he was doing.

God had to have been leading him in the direction that this country needed to go. Look how far we have come as a people, just since his death! Listen to the increases in numbers of people, young and old alike, that are coming to or returning to God!

I must say that I was excited to go to church Sunday and listen to our young pastor. He is being used by God to touch people and lead them to new encounters with God, as well. He probably does not even realize how many hearts and souls he touches for God, but I can tell he is touching them. I told him that he needs to look into Turning Point because he would fit right in. I hope he does!

Getting back to heroes.... Charlie Kirk was a hero and a martyr working for God and now sits at God's side, maybe even in His lap as God puts his arms around him and says "a job well done good and faithful servant" and Jesus says, "Welcome Home!"

The heroes of the Kerr County Flood need to hear from all of us, having gone through, are going through and will continue to go through all the horror that will take God, Himself, to remove from their minds.
